About the ContributorsDr-Ing. Kay Alwertis a consultant, scientist, lecturer, and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in business management, specializing in knowledge, information, and innovation management. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and earned his PhD in management at the Technical University of Berlin, complemented by research in philosophy and artificial intelligence. He serves as General Manager at alwert GmbH & Co. KG and previously led R&D at a German AI start-up for smart heat grid solutions. He also lectures at the University of Leipzig and the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Austria.
Dr Fariba Fardis an adjunct faculty member in Data Science at the University of North Texas (UNT). Her research spans statistics, machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) applications, remote sensing, and geo-spatial information science (GIS). Dr Fard has authored 18 publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers. She has received prestigious awards for her dissertation and innovative contributions to the field. Currently, she serves as a Data Scientist at PACCAR North Texas, where she leverages advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to address complex challenges in the automative industry. Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr Fard is passionate about mentoring young professionals in ML and AI and is an advocate for promoting women in STEM.
Dr Suliman Hawamdehis a Regents Professor in the Department of Information Science, College of Information, University of North Texas. He is a leading authority in the field of knowledge management and the editor in chief of the Journal of Information and Knowledge Management (JIKM). He founded and directed several academic programs including the first Master of Science in Knowledge Management in Asia in the School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and the Master of Science in Data Science at University of North Texas. He served as a department chair and director of the interdisciplinary PhD program in Information Science from 2010–2018. He served in the capacity of chair, founding chair, and president of several national and international professional associations and conferences, including the International Conference on Knowledge Management (ICKM). In 2020, he received the ALISE Award for Professional Contribution to Library and Information Science Education. He is also a distinguished member of ASIST.
Renato Salvador Coutinhois an auditor at the Central Bank of Brazil, where he has led areas responsible for Governance, Strategic Management, Project Management, and Data Science within the monetary authority and other state institutions. He holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) and HCMP 3G Expert Professional certifications. Currently, Mr Coutinho is pursuing a doctorate in Knowledge Engineering, focusing on the application of Generative AI models in finance. This builds on his master’s studies in the same field at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and in Informatics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). His areas of expertise include governance, strategic management, data-driven decision-making, artificial intelligence, data science, and suptech tools.
