This book is a fantastic step-by-step guide, whether it’s for anyone who’s just starting out in AI and wants to know more, or a seasoned pro who wants to refine or sense check their processes. This book is well written, clear, and covers the practical as well as the theoretical. My favourite quote is ’embrace failure’, I’m a huge fan of this myself, it’s the best way to learn. Selim didn’t have an easy path to get to where he is, and is not afraid to share his learnings so we don’t have to make the same mistakes. I really enjoyed the pitfalls sections in each chapter, delivering short, knowledge-packed nuggets. Like he says, AI is a journey, and this is a great roadmap.

About the Author
Dr. Selim Mimarogluis a senior AI leader and former Director of AI at Oracle Utilities. Dr. Mimaroglu introduced and operationalized AI across Oracle’s business units, building an AI Center of Excellence and shipping hundreds of production AI models. He is a published inventor with several AI patents and an educator with a PhD in computer science from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a professional certificate in product management from MIT. Dr. Mimaroglu has received multiple awards, including startup funding. He advises companies and executives on AI strategy, governance, and GenAI adoption.
