From the Author
This book refactors and extends the previous “The Professional Scrum Master Guide” book. This was done to update the content with fresh knowledge, correct errata, and add advanced Scrum content relevant to level II certification exams. As with the previous book, the “The Scrum Master Guide” aims to achieve two things: i) help people get certified and ii) offer pragmatic advice on how to deal with life as a Scrum Master. There are many things that the Scrum guide doesn’t cover but we need to know to be effective Scrum Masters: how to manage requirements, what to do when some Sprint tasks are not completed, how to estimate tasks precisely, and many, many others. Chapter 8 is dedicated to the Scrum anti-patterns, a set of bad practices (and solutions to them) that I observed working for over a decade in Scrum environments. I would like to think that after reading this book, the reader will be able toi understand the implications of and make the right decisions on the dozens of challenges they will face when acting as Scrum Master in a commercial organization. I hope you enjoy reading this book, but more importantly, I hope reading it makes you a better, happier and more effective Scrum Master 🙂
