Program management is the organizational backbone that successfully drives digital transformation by integrating multiple initiatives under one cohesive strategy.

Through a structured examination of the program management lifecycle phases, Organizational Digital Transformation provides practical tools, methodologies, and actionable steps. Key tools and processes, such as program vision statements, blueprints, and benefits realization management, are explored in depth. Insights are brought to life through a detailed case example illustrating how to apply program management concepts effectively in practice.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“Over the years, I have read countless books on digital transformation and project management, but Organizational Digital Transformation: An IT-Enabled Program Approach is one of the very few practical books that fully integrates a strategic vision with execution tools and truly brings them to life. This book’s interpretation of digital transformation goes far beyond superficial slogans; it uses a rigorous logical framework to systematically explain how to translate a transformation blueprint into measurable results through IT-enabled program management. If you are a senior IT executive, an IT manager at any level, a digital transformation program manager, or a core member of a PMO team, this book will become the most essential guide in your toolbox. It not only helps us identify risks and blind spots along the transformation journey but also provides an evidence-based action framework to assist you in making the right decisions in complex and dynamic environments. This is a professional classic worth reading, verifying, and practicing repeatedly. I sincerely recommend it to all leaders at the forefront of IT-enabled organizational transformation.”-Michael Kung, Sr. Executive Partner, Executive Programs Gartner

“This book cuts through the clutter to give educators and leaders a sharp, practical playbook for guiding big change. Richly illustrated with real-world examples and equipped with tools aligned to industry best practices, it’s built for teaching and doing both, without the heavy textbook feel. This concise, executive-style guide serves as a key to success, whether you are developing a course or spearheading a transformation, enabling you to seamlessly integrate theory and practice.” –Dr. Jacob Chia-An Tsai, Department of Information Management, National Central University, Taiwan

“Organizational Digital Transformation delivers an exceptional level of professionalism and depth. For newcomers or practitioners seeking to transition from project to program, or from tactical execution to strategic delivery, this book serves as a rare and valuable roadmap. The author’s description of the program manager’s role is particularly well-articulated, emphasizing a critical truth: the success of a program manager is not defined by whether individual projects are completed, but by whether the intended strategy is realized. A great program manager is not merely an executor of strategy, but a strategic interpreter and real-time navigator. In this context, this book is undoubtedly an outstanding work in the field of IT program management.” -Raymond Chang, Executive Vice President, Digital, Data & Technology Department, KGI Financial
