The study of human-machine interaction as a unique control system has been one of the first research interests in engineering, with nearly a century having passed since the first works in the field. At the same time, it is a crucial aspect of the most recent technological developments in applications of fields such as collaborative robotics and artificial intelligence.

About the Author

Adriano Scibilia received the MSc degree in biomedical engineering from Politecnico di Milano, in 2018, and the PhD degree in systems engineering energy, computer science and telecommunications from the University of Catania, in 2023. From 2017 to 2018, he was part of the Advanced Robotics Department, IIT. From 2018 to 2023, he was a Research Fellow with the Robot Motion Control and Robotized Processes Laboratory, CNR-STIIMA. Since 2024, he has been a Full Researcher with the Robot Motion Control and Robotized Processes Laboratory, CNR-STIIMA. His research deals with physical human-robot interaction, safety in collaborative robotic systems, human control modeling, and rehabilitation robotics.
