Book Description

This book tries to discover how using nano-designed materials might increase the performance and sustainability of existing green energy systems. The book covers a wide range of subjects reflecting the most recent developments and new trends in the industry, including:

  • Synthesis, the electronic layout, green design, and work in energy storage and production are described for carbon nanomaterials in the scope of green energy systems.
  • Since carbon nanostructures are essential parts of fuel cells, quantifying their environmental impact offers useful information.
  • Advanced nanomaterials for lithium-ion batteries: progress in developing nanomaterials to enhance how well lithium-ion batteries work and how far they can be advanced.
  • Studies on nanoengineered materials for solar cells: developing and making different designs for nano-enabled solar panels, looking at their benefits, weaknesses, and possible advances.

Apart from discussing main concepts and synthesis methods, this book will underline how CNTs are applied in modern energy technologies. It is important to solve the issues related to the environment, the ability to make those materials in large quantities, and how long the materials will last. With the help of nanoengineering, this book seeks to boost the growth of energy solutions that are energy-efficient, affordable, and environmentally responsible, therefore adding to the worldwide job of promoting green energy technology.

About the Author

R.G. Abaszade, is an associate professor of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (2022) and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (2024). He is the author of 138 articles, 9 textbooks, 11 subject programs and 3 inventions, and papers in refereed journals with over 759 citations and h-index of 16, according to Google Scholar database. Dr. Abaszade received a degree of physical electronics (Bachelor) at Baku State University in 2003, optoelectronics (Master) at Baku State University in 2006, and Ph.D. in physics in 2018. In 2019, he created the “”Innovation Research”” department at the International Academy of Ecoenergetics and continues to research the purchase, analysis and applications of nanomaterials. The department’s research works are carried out in the framework of joint cooperation with the scientific centers of the USA, Germany, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, England, China, İndia and Italy. Together with the research group, the department is engaged in complex work related to the acquisition, addition, analysis and applications of graphene-based samples. At the same time, the department creates various nanoelements (negatrons, diodes, capacitors and transistors) based on graphene-based materials. In the department, Professor Abaszade’s research group is continuing experimental work in the direction of obtaining various samples, studying them and preparing nanomatrix devices based on new smart technology for the implementation of smart city and alternative energy supply. He is the editor-in-chief of Ecoenergetics journal, and a leading reviewer of the editorial board of various journals. In 2019, he became a professor of the “”International Academy of Ecoenergetics””, and in 2023, he was an invited professor of Nursultan Nazarbayev University.

A. K. Haghiis a retired professor and is currently a research associate at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Professor Haghi holds a B.Sc. in urban and environmental engineering from the University of North Carolina (USA) and holds two M.Sc. degrees, one in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University (USA) and another one in applied mechanics, acoustics, and materials from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (France). He was awarded a Ph.D. in engineering sciences at Université de Franche-Comté (France). He has written, co-written, edited, or co-edited more than 1000 publications, including books, book chapters, and papers in refereed journals with over 4300 citations and an h-index of 35, according to Google Scholar database.
